Once we receive a referral from your doctor, Dr McDarra’s staff will contact you to arrange an appointment time for your initial consultation.
Occasionally, Dr McDarra may request further imaging to be done prior to your initial appointment. If this is necessary our reception staff will contact you.
Once you are offered an appointment with Dr McDarra you may wish to complete our Patient Registration Form PDF prior to your appointment and email to: reception@drjasonmcdarra.com.au or bring it with you on the day of your appointment.
At your initial consultation Dr McDarra will discuss your medical history, examine you thoroughly and he will formulate a plan for your care and treatment. He may require you to undergo further investigations if necessary.
If you are informed surgical treatment is recommended, Dr McDarra will answer any questions you may have and he may give you some information to take away to help you prepare for surgery.

Please telephone our office during business hours and allow at least 24 – 48 hours notice so that we can offer your appointment time to other patients waiting for treatment.
Dr McDarra prides himself on not keeping you waiting however occasionally he may need to spend a little more time with his patient and this may cause scheduling delays beyond our control. Where possible, we will advise you if Dr is running late and we apologise in advance if you are kept waiting.
Dr McDarra recommends patients return for an appointment after their surgery to check on progress and recovery. This appointment is likely to take place two weeks after you are discharged from hospital.
